Just take baby steps!

There is a new emphasis in the church on getting a 3 month supply of food that your family will actually eat. Don't worry about the long-term storage until you've gotten a supply of everyday foods. Even though this is a lot less scary than a whole year supply, it still can be overwhelming. The Church recommends starting out small and taking baby steps. Just buy a few extra cans of food each time you go to the store; save a few extra coins each week. Not a big deal, right?

There is a nifty (and short) article clarifying the new Preparedness Program in the March issue of the Ensign (click here to read it).  I highly recommend reading it (it will take maybe five minutes. C'mon, what are you waiting for?)
